“Chemistry Experience Day” delivered to over 3000 A-level sudents and teachers (CPD) over a period of 10+ years. Designed to provide experience of the lab practicals at University level, hands-on use of analytical techniques such as IR spectroscopy and demonstration of central services including NMR, Mass Spectrometry and Laser Lab suites. Praticals included, synthesis of azo-dyes and their UV-Vis absorption characterisation and the cis-trans isomerisation of butenedioate and the IR spectroscopy of functional groups
